What is realized gain and loss?

Profits and losses that occurred from completed transactions are known as realized gains and losses.

(You can read more about realized and unrealized gain/loss through this link what is realized and unrealized gain/loss.)

For example, if you purchased goods worth SGD1,000 from a Singapore supplier, and the invoice is valued at RM3,000.03 at the invoice date. You settled the invoice 15 days after the date the invoice was sent and the value of the invoice became RM3,039.51 when converted to Singapore dollars according to the exchange rate at the point of time. Therefore, it means that you as the buyer will have a realized foreign exchange loss of RM39.48 (RM3,039.51-RM3,000.03) when the funds.

TreezSoft will automatically create the double entry for realized gain/loss once a foreign currency payment was registered. You can follow the guides below to view your realized gain and loss in just a few clicks.
