Since 1st September 2018, Sales and Service Tax (SST) has been implemented to replace the Goods ad Service Tax (GST) in Malaysia. Different from GST, the government in Malaysia has set that SST will have a taxable period of 2 years, while in GST, different companies may have different length of taxable period.
We’ve come to the end of the year when most company’s financial-year-end closing is near. You will need to submit SST by the end of your company’s financial year and so, making sure you have submitted your SST return is crucial at this period of time.

How to submit SST return in MySST?
Many may be confused on how to submit SST as this is a new system after GST. To submit your SST return, first, you need to confirm your taxable period. As mentioned earlier in this article, all companies will follow a 2 months taxable period. Companies will need to submit SST return by the end of your taxable period.
However, the first taxable period of one company may differ from another. The government has set out guideline on company’s first taxable period according to the company’s Financial-Year-End month. You can refer to our previous blog post as a reference. You will need to submit your SST return every two months after your first SST return submission.
How to submit your SST return in TreezSoft?

After generating your SST return report, you will still need to submit your SST return to the government’s website https://mysst.customs.gov.my/.
When you’re in “MySST” portal, click on “Log In” button to login to your account. Make sure you have your SST number, User ID and password ready to be entered to the system.
After logging in, you can follow this guide created from the government to guide you in detail on how you can proceed with each section of your SST declaration.
